Reviews of Last Man on Earth Double Hamburger

After last calendar week'due south disappointing episode, "Double Cheeseburger" is the best of The Last Human on Earth Flavour 4.

The Last Man on World Season 4 Episode 6 begins with Ballad giving birth to her girl Bezequil in her sleep. She later discovers, though, that she is pregnant with twins. Gail and Tandy argue over how to proceed with the second birth, and Todd wants to babysit Dawn considering of his babe fever.

Gail Wants to Intervene - The Last Man on Earth

When we establish out that Carol had given birth to Bezequil in her sleep, I was a little concerned that it would not pay off. I should not take doubted them, though, because Ballad'due south sleep birth is something only this testify could do well.

Information technology was wacky and completely unbelievable, simply it felt right for both Carol and the serial as a whole.

Then, we're sticking with Bezequil? I...uh...I dearest it.

Gail

Erica'southward anger over Carol's way-too-easy nativity was hilarious. Cleopatra Coleman's screen time has been lacking, in my opinion, and this jealousy gave Coleman some deserved scenes and comedic moments.

In addition, this was a delightful episode for Mary Steenburgen. She is always wonderful to watch, but her fight with Will Forte's Tandy actually stood out. I dear how much she now cares about Carol and her well-being afterwards she reluctantly stepped into the role of her pseudo-mom.

We also got to see a petty flake more of the relationship between Gail and Erica, which I discussed in my review of The Concluding Man on Earth Flavour 4 Episode 5, "La Abuela."

As the two tried and failed to take a engagement dark, nosotros were given a few nuggets of information about their romantic relationship.

We now officially know that Erica and Gail are a true couple and that the rest of the gang knows they are together. I love that the relationship started in such a quiet way, and I hope that nosotros proceed to see more of them together.

I would love to tag along on one of their appointment nights to really see their dynamic at piece of work.

"Double Cheeseburger" featured some of the funniest moments of the entire series.

The double cheeseburger metaphor for the twins was inspired and relatable writing. Kristen Schaal and Will Forte truly shined with this, giving us some of the greatest one-liners in recent memory.

I don't similar fast food. I prefer it tiresome or mid-tempo.

Carol

The most hilarious moment, though, happened when Tandy suggested that he lookout Carol'due south vagina for any changes while she slept so she did not miss the birth of her second child.

When Tandy volunteered to do this, I knew something would go wrong. Information technology is inevitable when Tandy is in charge. He means well, merely he commonly struggles to follow through correctly.

This time, Tandy enlisted the assist of Todd when he got also tired to continue his watch.

Todd popping out from nether the covers like it was no big deal had me laughing so hard I had to pause the show then I did non miss anything that came after it. It was a subtle but priceless moment for both Todd and Carol.

Even with the many express joy-out-loud moments, "Double Cheeseburger" had me in tears in the stop.

It would have been easy to take Carol and Tandy freak out over the news that they were nigh to be parents to two babies. Friends did it in the series finale with Monica and Chandler because information technology is a simple way to get a lot of laughs.

Realistically, most people would lose their minds if they were surprised with an extra "cheeseburger" while in labor.

Tandy and Carol, however, were elated and seeing the unabashed joy on their faces when Gail told them the news brought tears to my optics.

Hey Mike. I'm your dad. You know, commonly Mike is a guy's proper noun, and kids might give y'all a little flak for it. But Mike was my brother's name. If you knew him, I'm sure you wouldn't heed.

Tandy

The real tears-streaming-downward-my-face moment, though, came when Tandy spoke about his brother with his new girl, Mike.

When Carol announced the baby'southward name, I was admittedly confused. I forgot that was his brother'south proper name, but Forte's whispered speech to his girl nigh her deceased Uncle Mike was equally sweet and heartbreaking.

That moment and Tandy'south song at the end about how much he loves his girls are enough to turn even the biggest cynic into a crying mess.

You take another cheeseburger in the bag?

Tandy

The Concluding Homo on Globe is a tossup for renewal based on its ratings. Flavor 4 has been stiff overall, and so far, I have only been disappointed by the lackluster "La Abuela."

"Double Cheeseburger" was everything I love about this testify and proves why it deserves to be renewed for more than seasons.

It wasn't simply the best episode of the season; it is i of the best of the unabridged series.

What did you think? Was information technology the best episode of the season? You can sentinel The Last Human being on World online and share your thoughts in the comments!

Disclaimer: I am spelling Bezequil to the best of my abilities. If it is incorrect, I repent.
